Janel Sia is Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder at Yuvo Health, which provides administrative and managed-care contracting services to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), where she is responsible for overseeing Yuvo’s day-to-day administrative and operational functions. Joining in August 2021, she is based in New York City where the company is headquartered.
Janel’s career has been dedicated to building the capacity of nonprofit organizations with a specific focus on public and community health. Prior to Yuvo Health, Janel served as Director of Network Strategy and Development at Healthify, which provides access to networks of social-service organizations, where she designed, built, and evaluated accountable networks aimed to improve health outcomes in key nationwide regions. Before this, Janel built partnerships at the International Rescue Committee’s Global Philanthropy and Partnerships unit and provided capacity building technical assistance for small to mid sized nonprofits at a venture philanthropy organization. Earlier in her career, she was a Research Assistant in psychiatric epidemiology at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, focusing on culture, stigma, and mental illness among the Chinese immigrant population and other demographics.
Janel earned a BA in psychology from Columbia University. She lives in New York City with her husband where they enjoy going to shows and concerts, eating, and exploring different neighborhoods. Janel loves ballet, modern and tap dance, and is always up for an adventure, especially with her family in the Philippines.
